Thanls , The Searcher, for your input on this scripture. I've lost of the times I've read the bible cover to cover, but I'm currently re-reading it for the first time without the filter of JW dogma. I will take this thought into consideration when I get to Romans.

December Study Watchtower - Preparing to Reveal a New Light?
by The Searcher inthe jw/wtbt's anti-scriptural & anti-christ teaching that "a person's own death wipes out their sins" (based on their lie that romans 6:7 is to be interpreted literally) appears to have had a little wedge inserted into it.
despite making numerous accurate references to the fact that 1st century christians had figuratively died to sin, the svengalis at the top of the brooklyn pyramid point-blank refuse to discuss/cite/quote romans 6:7 and its true meaning.

These 2 recent quotes about beards should be shown to people in the door to door ministry, or somehow shown to non witnesses just to see their reaction. I know its not as important as say, child abuse, but it still is sure to provoke a reaction, or at least a priceless puzzled look.

So in short, what The Watchtower is saying is that there may be a handful of areas around the world where beards are allowed on brothers with responsibilities, (except for on conventions), but even in those areas, the truly mature ones will choose not to where a beard.

The reason why the paragraph seems to be contradicting itself? Besides the obvious benefits of anonymity from doubletalk, there also may have been a split in the voting among the GB, and this reflects it.

Aaaaaand . . .
It offers absolutely nothing new.
From Questions from Readers in the December 2016 Study Edition Watchtower:
"Is it proper for a brother today
to have a beard?
In some cultures, a neat beard
may be acceptable and may not
detract from the Kingdom mes-
sage. Still, some brothers might
decide not to have a beard.
(1 Cor. 8:9) In other cultures
and localities, beards are not
considered acceptable for Chris-
tian ministers.—w16.09, p. 21." -
